Showcasing Sustainable Electronics at LITEON+ 2025
Jiva Materials joins global innovators advancing low-carbon technology and smart systems
At the LITEON+ 2025 Demo Day, held in Taipei on May 23rd, Jiva Materials proudly stood alongside some of the world’s most forward-thinking startups in a showcase dedicated to sustainable innovation. Organised by LITEON Technology, the event spotlighted next-generation developments in low-carbon materials, AI applications, and intelligent sensing – delivering on its promise to accelerate global sustainability through deep-tech collaboration.

This year’s Demo Day was more than a product exhibition, it was a convergence of ecosystems. Partners from Germany, Japan, Singapore, the UK, and beyond came together to present tangible progress toward net-zero goals, forging alliances across borders and industries.
A Global Dialogue on Innovation and Impact
The event included a strategic forum featuring representatives from Plug and Play Japan, the Infineon Co-Innovation Program, and CIC (Cambridge Innovation Center), highlighting how partnerships between established corporations and agile startups are fuelling deep-tech disruption. Eric Wang, founder and CEO of RHINOSHIELD, delivered a compelling keynote on maritime drones and plastic waste solutions underscoring how sustainability thrives at the intersection of creativity, collaboration, and cutting-edge technology.

Jiva Materials: Soluboard® as a Scalable Climate Solution
Representing the UK, Jiva Materials presented Soluboard®, our natural fibre-based PCB substrate engineered for recyclability and biodegradability. Unlike conventional epoxy-glass laminates, Soluboard® dissolves in hot water, separating materials for component recovery without harmful chemicals or energy-intensive processes. This innovation enables the fabrication of Recyclable Printed Circuit Boards (RPCBs®) a key step toward responsible electronics manufacturing.

Backed by published patents and global customer pilots, Soluboard® offers a 67% reduction in carbon footprint compared to standard FR-4 PCBs. Its adoption supports compliance with emerging environmental regulations, circular design principles, and growing market demand for low-impact electronics.
Our participation at LITEON+ Demo Day reaffirmed the importance of cross-sector cooperation to tackle e-waste and design challenges at scale. Together with LITEON and fellow startups, we’re building the foundation for a new electronics industry one that’s truly sustainable from the substrate up.

A Global Showcase of Breakthrough Startups
Alongside Jiva Materials, six other trailblazing teams shared their visions for a greener future:
-
illumi (Singapore): Reinventing Human-AI collaboration through a shared, intelligent whiteboard workspace that transforms team workflows.
-
MagikEye (USA): Pioneering ultra-low power, high-speed 3D sensing to enhance robotic vision systems.
-
Nanomade (France): Developing printed strain sensors with nanoparticle ink to detect minute deformations across materials and surfaces from automotive interiors to healthcare wearables.
-
Neotiq (Taiwan): Offering AI-powered Internet of Vehicles (IoV) solutions to unlock value from automotive after-sales data.
-
Oculi (USA): Delivering on-chip intelligence through its IntelliPixel™ sensor, which pre-processes visual data directly at the pixel level for real-time, efficient Vision AI.
-
Elephantech (Japan): Advancing sustainable PCB manufacturing through SustainaCircuits – enabling additive production methods and dramatically reducing resource use. Their MoU with LITEON marks a pivotal moment in integrating sustainable processes across Asia’s electronics supply chain.
From Concept to Commercialisation – Together
The Demo Day also served as a springboard for dialogue around how startups scale with corporate support, and the strategies enterprises can use to select, integrate, and amplify the right partners. These cross-industry conversations are essential as global industries navigate increasing environmental pressures, shifting policy frameworks, and rapid technological change.
