Jiva Materials Wins Logitech’s Future Positive Challenge in Printed Circuits
September 15, 2025 – Jiva Materials is proud to announce that we have been selected as a Winner in Logitech’s Future Positive Challenge, recognized in the Printed Circuits category for our pioneering work on Soluboard®, the world’s first recyclable and biodegradable PCB substrate.
The Future Positive Challenge is Logitech’s global search for breakthrough solutions in consumer electronics. This year, companies were recognized across five categories: printed circuits, battery technology, alternative materials, waste management, and sustainable manufacturing.

Recognition for Soluboard®
Soluboard® offers a radical alternative to traditional FR-4 laminates, with a 67% lower carbon footprint, full recyclability, and biodegradability. By enabling recovery of fibres, copper, and components, it provides a practical solution to the mounting challenge of e-waste.
Winning in the Printed Circuits category highlights Jiva’s leadership in sustainable electronics and underscores the urgency of embedding circular materials into global supply chains.
A Platform for Collaboration
As part of the award, Jiva Materials will be invited to collaborate with Logitech on a Proof of Concept project, exploring pathways to integrate Soluboard® into future product designs.

Past winners of the Future Positive Challenge include Elephantech Inc., a Japanese startup pioneering additive PCB manufacturing through inkjet printing. Like Jiva, Elephantech was offered a Proof of Concept project with Logitech, demonstrating the Challenge’s track record in helping sustainability-led startups move from innovation to impact.
This shared recognition highlights the critical role of disruptive PCB technologies in reshaping electronics toward a more circular, low-carbon future.
Why It Matters
Electronic waste is the fastest-growing waste stream worldwide, projected to reach 82 million tonnes by 2030. Recognition in the Future Positive Challenge validates Jiva’s belief that addressing the PCB substrate – which makes up nearly half of all e-waste – is one of the most impactful interventions we can make.
