As an assembly house focused on environmentally responsible processes, Studio 29 has been supporting Soluboard® integration for several years. Every Soluboard® panel arriving at their factory goes through standard processes: stencil-based solder paste application, pick-and-place, reflow soldering, and inspection with only minor adjustments required.

Low-Temperature Soldering for Low-Carbon Materials

One of the key advantages of Soluboard® is its compatibility with low-temperature soldering – a major enabler of reduced energy consumption and thermal stress during assembly.

Studio 29 uses AIM/BLT NC273LT solder paste, provided by BLT Circuit Services. This low-temperature paste is rich in bismuth and melts at around 138°C, allowing Studio 29 to run their reflow ovens at a maximum of 180 °C – well below traditional reflow profiles.

This ensures:

  • Reduced energy use during reflow

  • Improved substrate protection

  • Longer component lifespans

  • Better overall process efficiency
