InnoVEX 2025: A Global Stage for Innovation – And a Breakthrough Moment for Jiva Materials
As the global startup ecosystem becomes increasingly focused on sustainability, innovation, and technological impact, InnoVEX 2025 emerged as a definitive event of the year. Hosted alongside COMPUTEX Taipei, one of the world’s largest ICT trade shows, InnoVEX is the dedicated innovation arm that champions startups disrupting legacy industries and reshaping the future of tech.
This year’s theme, “AI NEXT,” drew more than 450 startups from 24 countries and regions. These included national pavilions from Belgium, Brazil, France, Australia, Japan, Thailand, Israel, and more. The focus areas – Artificial Intelligence, Green Technology, Smart Mobility, Semiconductor Applications, and Next-Gen Communications – aligned perfectly with the strategic direction of startups working at the intersection of technology and sustainability.
Among these, Jiva Materials, the UK-based pioneer behind the world’s first fully recyclable PCB substrate – Soluboard® – stood out for its bold pitch and visionary approach to solving the e-waste crisis.
What Is InnoVEX?
Launched in 2016 by the Taipei Computer Association (TCA) and TAITRA, InnoVEX was designed as a complementary platform to COMPUTEX, giving startups from around the globe a voice, a stage, and a network. Unlike other trade shows that focus solely on hardware or software, InnoVEX exists at the intersection of breakthrough innovation and industry adoption.

The 2025 edition, marking its 10th anniversary, was a milestone. With over 30,000 visitors, high-profile forums, accelerators, pitch contests, and international collaboration booths, InnoVEX evolved from a side-stage to a critical launchpad for the next generation of tech ventures.
Spotlight on Soluboard®: Jiva Materials’ Green Tech Marvel
What Is Soluboard®?
Soluboard® is a patented eco-friendly printed circuit board (PCB) substrate developed by Jiva Materials. Traditional PCBs are made from glass fiber and epoxy resins, materials that are non-biodegradable, hard to recycle, and toxic when incinerated. These materials contribute significantly to the e-waste problem, which reached 62 million tonnes globally in 2022 and is projected to hit 82 million tonnes by 2030.
Soluboard®, on the other hand, is:
- Made from natural fibers and biodegradable polymers
- Water-soluble, allowing safe and easy recovery of valuable electronic components
- 67% lower in carbon footprint compared to traditional PCBs
- Compatible with PTH and double-sided boards, making it viable for a range of electronic applications
It’s more than green innovation – it’s a fully circular technology.
Jiva’s Journey to InnoVEX
In 2025, Jiva Materials was selected to represent the UK as part of the broader international green tech delegation. Backed by strategic partners including ICAPE Group, Turquoise Capital, and supported by UK government grants and the European Institute of Innovation & Technology, Jiva’s mission in Taiwan was to:
- Raise awareness of Soluboard® among Asian manufacturers
- Pitch to global investors and enterprise customers
- Connect with governments pushing green procurement

Their booth was co-located with other sustainability-focused startups, and it quickly became a popular stop for enterprise electronics buyers and media.
Jiva at the InnoVEX Pitch Contest
One of the highlights of InnoVEX is its startup pitch competition, which this year offered over $100,000 in prizes and the chance to pitch in front of global VCs and tech media.
Jiva’s CEO took the stage to present “Soluboard® – Recyclable Electronics for a Circular Future” to a panel of judges from AWS, Qualcomm, NVIDIA, and regional VC firms.
Key highlights of the pitch included:
- A live demo showing Soluboard dissolving in water, releasing recoverable components
- Case studies with Bosch, Siemens, and Infineon
- A quantified impact model: over 1kg of CO2 savings per board, and 5x recovery rate for rare earths
- A go-to-market strategy across Europe and Asia
Though the grand prize went to DeepRad.AI for its medical imaging solution, Jiva’s presentation was widely applauded and picked up by multiple industry blogs and Taiwanese press.
Industry Response and Media Buzz
Jiva’s participation at InnoVEX was covered by:
- Startup Island TAIWAN
- Taipei Times
- TechNode Asia
- Sustainable Electronics Review
Industry professionals praised the practicality and impact of Soluboard. Buyers from Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan expressed interest in pilot projects and procurement trials.
Additionally, Jiva’s booth saw delegations from:
- TSMC sustainability team
- Panasonic Ventures
- Sony Green Innovation Lab
- Taiwan Environmental Protection Administration
The Bigger Picture: Jiva’s Role in Global Green Electronics
In the context of upcoming EU right-to-repair regulations, UK net-zero mandates, and Asian green industrial policy, Jiva’s Soluboard is perfectly positioned. It enables:
- Modular, repairable consumer electronics
- Easier reverse logistics for recycling
- Lower emissions in electronics manufacturing
It’s already being integrated into pilot lines for routers, wearables, and smart appliances.
What’s Next for Jiva Materials?
Following InnoVEX, Jiva is:
- Preparing for Series A funding in Q4 2025
- Finalizing OEM deals in Taiwan and Germany
- Scaling up manufacturing in partnership with European PCB fabs
- Working with regulators to promote Soluboard standards
Their next stops include:
- Electronica 2025 in Munich
- CES 2026 in Las Vegas
- Sustainable Electronics Summit in London
Conclusion
InnoVEX 2025 was more than just a showcase – it was a validation of Jiva’s mission to change how the world builds electronics. In a space dominated by hype, Jiva Materials delivered substance. Soluboard is not just a concept or a prototype – it’s real, functional, and scalable.
As sustainability becomes a strategic imperative, Jiva Materials’ work is not only timely – it’s necessary.
